Why We Exist

COUNCIL TAX IS BROKEN. IT’S TIME TO FIX IT.
Britain Cannot Keep Running a 21st Century Country on a Tax System Frozen in 1991.

Council Tax was introduced as a stopgap. Thirty years later, it has become one of the most important taxes people pay — despite being built on property values that no longer reflect modern Britain.

The result is growing unfairness and widening disparity. Too often, people in lower-value homes pay proportionately more while those who have gained most from rising property values contribute less.

No one would design this system today.

Council Tax reform is not about raising more tax. It is about restoring fairness, rebuilding trust, and creating a system that reflects the country as it is — not as it was.

Britain needs radical solutions.
